TWO WOMEN have been advised by police to stop handing out posters warning parents about a convicted rapist living in their neighbourhood.
The two mums started printing up copies of the posters alerting people to the fact that the child abuser had moved to the Romsey and North Baddesley area after being released from prison.
But the pair were paid a visit by officers who warned them of the dangers of handing out such information – including a photograph of the molester – and making allegations against him.
The women told the Daily Echo they felt compelled to warn parents in the area about the convicted child abuser living in their area having been sentenced to more than ten years in jail.
The poster, which is a reprint of the story that appeared in the Daily Echo when the man was sentenced, states: “Beware – This man is roaming free in Romsey and North Baddesley. Is this really justice for what he did to those poor girls?”
They have been handing out posters throughout the area, pinning them to lampposts and posting them through the doors of those living nearby.
Even the visit from the police has not deterred them and they have vowed to continue to warn those with children.
One of the women said: “I don’t believe anyone like that changes and I will do anything to protect more children from falling victim to him. I am doing this for my children and all the children in the area. They shouldn’t be scared to go out.”
