A TEENAGER was found with almost 50 wraps of heroin and crack cocaine hidden in her underwear when police raided a house in Southampton.

A curtain twitched in a ground floor window when an officer knocked on the front door and by the time the occupant of an upstairs flat had opened it people had fled through the back door.

Prosecutor Rachel Robertson told the city crown court that they found Courtney Geddes and Abdihafid Abraham still inside the premises.

Geddes, 18, was carrying two packages containing 34 wraps of heroin and 11 of crack cocaine with a street value of £605.

Abraham was found with a mobile phone and an analysis of the texts revealed he had been helping to direct drugs to others.

“He had played a significant role, motivated by financial advantage,” said Ms Robertson.

Abraham, 30, of Atherley Road, Southampton, admitted being concerned in the supply of drugs. He was jailed for two years to run consecutive to a six-and-a-half year term imposed at the same court in May for robbery.

Said to be of previous good character Geddes, of no fixed abode, received a two-year community order with a 120-hour community service order after David Storry, defending, said she had been told to hide the drugs.

“Being arrested was a blessing in disguise,” he explained.

“She was vulnerable, exploited and used and at the time didn’t realise the seriousness of the situation. Sending her to a young offenders institution would have a negative affect.”

In mitigation for Abraham, Adam Feest said his problems began with alcohol and he started dabbling in cocaine in 2008.

“He became involved in this for a short time.

“He accepts he was directing others for people further up the chain,” Mr Feest said.
