Workmen finish the new HMV shop in Winchester
SHOPPERS were turned away from the opening of Winchester's relocated HMV this morning after works shut the store.
The entertainment chain was set to open its new store in The Brooks centre after moving from the High Street this week.
But customers were told to come back at noon while workmen rushed to finish the shop.
A notice on the door read: "We are working really hard to get your new HMV store open as soon as possible. Apologies for the delay and any inconvenience caused."
Staff declined to comment on the delay.
