BLUE Islands is suspending its Jersey-to-Southampton route following the sale of its last two remaining 19-seat Jetstream aircraft.
The final Jetstream flight will take place on November 16 and the suspension will remain in place indefinitely.
Blue Islands have secured an arrangement with Flybe to re-accommodate all passengers affected to ensure that customers’ travel plans are not disrupted as a result of the aircraft sale. All passengers will be contacted as soon as possible by both airlines.
The move is in line with the airline’s business objective to streamline its operation to an all ATR fleet.
Blue Islands managing director Rob Veron said: “While it is with great regret that we need to suspend our Jetstream Southampton service, it is key to our sustained business success that we migrate to a single ATR fleet type.
"We are currently reviewing next year’s ATR fleet activity and aircraft availability which could well see us return the Southampton service next summer."
