A MAN has been arrested in Hampshire after a pensioner was stabbed to death.
Police launched a murder investigation after the 82-year-old victim’s body was discovered by paramedics.
Officers investigating the death of the elderly man in Gloucestershire today arrested a 47-year-old man in Southsea.
The pensioner’s body was found at his home in Walkley Hill in Stroud on Friday following reports he had died.
A force spokesman confirmed: ''Following the report to paramedics of a deceased 82 year old man at an address on Walkley Hill, Stroud, Gloucestershire, on Friday 7 November, it is now clear that he died of stab wounds and so his death is now being treated as a murder investigation.
''A 47 year old man local to Stroud, has been arrested today in Southsea, Hampshire.
''The dead man's family has been notified and is being supported by family liaison officers as well as being kept informed of the on-going investigation.''
Anyone with information is being asked to contact the force on 101, quoting incident number 126 of 7/11/14.
