Police in the New Forest are hunting a hit-and-run driver after an accident in which three donkeys were killed.
Officers are trying to trace a tall-sided white van believed to have been involved in the incident, which occurred at Roger Penny Way in Brook.
The person who reported the collision saw a damaged van heading towards Fordingbridge. One of the vehicle's headlights was askew.
Police say the accident happened on November 3 between 5am and 5.30am.
A spokesman said: “Police would like to take this opportunity to remind drivers to take extra care on rural roads in the New Forest overnight.
“Animals may be crossing roads in the National Park and the road surface may attract animals as it retains heat during the evening, unlike grassy surfaces.”
The Verderers offer a £1,000 reward for information leading to the conviction of a driver involved in a hit-and-run accident with an animal.
Anyone with information should call PC Gary Kimble at Hythe police station on 101.
