POLICE are hunting a gang who attacked and robbed a man on a Hampshire heath when he was walking home in the early hours.
The 39-year-old victim was walking along a remote pathway between Tickleford Drive and Grange Road in Netley Abbey when four men approached and demanded money.
One of them punched him to the floor before searching his jacket and stealing his keys and wallet.
The terrified man managed to escape and seek sanctuary in a garage in Portsmouth Road.
He suffered bruising to his face and did not need hospital treatment.
Officers stressed the attack is an isolated incident but are urging people to remain vigalent while walking in remote areas.
Anyone who witnessed the attack between 1.30am and 2.30am on Saturday or saw four men in the area should contact police on 101 or Crimestppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at crimestoppers-uk.org.
