Playtime will never be the same again for the pupils of Hook-with-Warsash Primary School as they look forward to having pirate adventures in their new play area.
Thanks to the outstanding fundraising efforts of the school's Parents Teachers and Friends Association (PTFA) the children will soon be enjoying a new £8,000 playground.
The junior playground has been devoid of any playground equipment or colourful lines since it had to be cleared for essential drainage work three years ago. Since then children and the PTFA have been working tirelessly on a huge range of fundraising events.
A competition was held at school to create the best play area design and the children voted for Year 6 pupil James Scott's shipwreck design.
Head teacher Chris Hines said: "The children are extremely excited about this project and have been involved in the whole process from raising the money to creating and choosing the final design. We would like to thank the PTFA for all their hard work and look forward to the project being completed."
