PLANS for a new £15m ferry terminal in Southampton's flagship Royal Pier development are set to go on display.
The plans to relocate the Red Funnel terminal to Trafalgar Dock will go on display at a public exhibition on Monday.
The company put together to bring forward the £450m plans to redevelop Royal Pier say the new facilities will create a better transport network between Southampton and the Isle of Wight.
The exhibition, taking place from 2-9pm at Westgate Hall in Westgate Street, Southampton, will be a first chance to see the proposals for the terminal.
Red Funnel's current terminal, near to the crumbling Royal Pier and Mayflower Park, will need to move to accommodate other parts of the plans, which could see hundreds of new homes, a super-casino and other businesses built at the site.
A new, expanded Mayflower Park will also be created with a permanent monument to the Spitfire.
The £14.95m ferry terminal project would be one of the first phases of the new project, and the proposals will be laid out at Monday's exhibition.

A spokesman for Royal Pier Waterfront, the company put together to drive forward Royal Pier, said: “The creation of a better transport network will enable development opportunities on both side of the water to come forward by freeing up vital land.
“This will encourage economic development, create new neighbourhoods and business districts, leisure facilities and retail hubs, create hundreds of new jobs and bolster the tourism industry as well as improving the customer experience.”
