CAMPAIGNERS fighting against a controversial documentary about life on a Southampton street have have marched through the city
The ‘We are Southampton’ march has been organised to drum up extra support for a forthcoming rally at the London headquarters of Channel 4 who will be airing Immigration Street later this year.
People have been steadily arriving at Southampton Solent University where they have been busy taping together placards ready for messages before the march at 1pm.
They then marched from the university and then on to Derby Road, where the programme is set.
A public meeting is now taking place at Maytree Nursery and Infant School.
Speakers will include Southampton MP Alan Whitehead and councillor Satvir Kaur.
Banners include 'Difference is Brilliant' in a heart and 'I am Southampton I was born here'.
