FIREFIGHTERS from across Hampshire spent part of the night tackling a gas leak on an industrial estate.
The alarm was raised shortly after 2.30am by staff at Polimeri Europa Ltd on the Cadland Industrial Estate, Hardley, where the leak occurred.
More than 40 firefighters from Hardley, Hythe and Beaulieu as well as St Mary's and Hightown in Southampton were at the scene dealing with the HASMAT incident which is understood to have involved LTG gas.
A total of eight breathing apparatus had to be used as well as specialist monitoring equipment to help isolate the leak.
The leak was dealt with and area made safe at 4.18 this morning.
