I'm aiming to be able to complete my 91st marathon Fareham runner Michael Aimable is busy training for his 91st full marathon at an age when many will have long hung up their running shoes.
Michael, 80, pictured right, who is one of the country's most prolific marathon runners, has vowed to run in this year's London Marathon, making it his 21st jaunt around the capital.
Although running is becoming a little more difficult for the former Army cipher operator, Michael is determined to face the 26 miles once again to raise money for Muscular Dystrophy.
Since he began running at 54, the grandfather of two and great-grandfather of two, has notched up an incredible 90 marathons and 131 half-marathons.
In total that is 4,053 miles in the last 26 years and that's not even counting the average 40 miles' training he runs every week.
Michael said: "I just love running and it keeps me fit and healthy. I train every Friday with friends 20 years younger than me, which keeps me going.
"When I train I see people who can hardly walk and I just think how lucky I am to be able to do this. As I run pass I give them a wave and the grins that light up their faces just fill me with happiness.
"I first started running because I was 15 stone and overweight. I then started getting pains down my left arm and heart and knew I had to do something. Instead of being cooped up in a gym I prefer to run in the country and see the wildlife.
"I cannot say whether this will be my last marathon because it simply depends on how this one goes but at the moment the running is a little more difficult."
