GIRL Guide organisers in Stubbington are vowing to continue fighting to raise the funds to overhaul their dilapidated hut, after they were turned down for a National Lottery grant.
The hut is used by up to 300 youngsters every week, but needs a new roof and floor, and will eventually need to be completely rebuilt to bring it in line with disability legislation.
More than £60,000 has already been raised for the project, but some of this has been used for running repairs and submitting the Lotto bid.
So the ten Guide units that call the hut home need to find another £150,000 to pay for the complete rebuild.
