WINCHESTER police are hunting the driver of a BMW who harassed a young woman in the city's Kingsgate area.
The 18-year-old was walking along St James Lane and into The Close, between 8.15pm and 9pm on Wednesday, March 21, when a man in a black BMW pulled up alongside her and asked her repeatedly to get into the car. When she refused, he drove away.
Another woman has come forward to say she twice saw a man fitting the suspect's description several weeks prior to the incident.
PC Paul Hewitt said: "Both women who have reported this man have seen him the same area of Kingsgate and we have conducted our inquiries with this in mind.
"We have made extensive patrols in the past few weeks hoping to apprehend the driver if he returned. I'd like to stress that this man has made no attempt to grab these women."
The driver is described as black with short, dark hair, aged 28 to 34 and wearing a black overcoat. The BMW was possibly a 745 model.
Anyone with information should call Winchester police on 0845 045 4545 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
