A DEAL to transform a disused Southampton department store into a flagship arts complex has finally been done.
The £13.01m project is seen as the keystone in creating a cultural quarter in Northern Above Bar.
Developer City Lofts has put pen to paper bringing to an end two years of delays over a deal to turn the Tyrrell & Green department store, which has been empty for seven years, into an arts complex flanked by two apartment towers.
City Lofts has bought the land from the city council for £7.25m and will now submit its plans for 268 apartments with 116 parking spaces.
