PLANS to build 12 two-bedroom flats are to be debated by members of Fareham Borough Council's planning committee tomorrow.
There have been 24 letters of complaint to the council about the application for outline planning permission to replace the two homes at 40 and 42 Westley Grove, Fareham, with a two-storey building.
Among the concerns raised are fears of a strain on the area's existing infrastructure, an overloading of parking in the single track road, overlooking of adjacent gardens and a loss of value for nearby properties.
But planning officers are recommending approval, subject to the applicants agreeing to make a financial contribution towards public open spaces and recreational facilities in the area. They say council policy supports the more efficient use of under-used urban land and that the proposal would be consistent with the scale and character of nearby terraced houses.
The application includes the provision of on-site car parking for 12 vehicles.
