SWEDISH furniture giant Ikea has finally submitted plans to opened a store in Southampton.
The firm has lodged a planning application to build a four-storey retail store, restuarant and warehouse on the former Pirelli cable works site in West Quay.
The 35,000 square metre storeand 900 space multi-storey car park would have a main access from West Quay Road.
The company revealed its proposals to bring one of its stores and up to 500 jobs to Southampton in the Daily Echo in January.
It held a public exhibition at the Bargate during which about 3,500 people attended.
