THE CAST of a major family musical have been parading the streets of Southampton to promote a summer of Ogre-like activities.
Performers from Shrek the Musical, which is taking over the Mayflower Theatre stage this month, have been out talking to shoppers in the city centre and inviting youngsters to join the Ogre Club.
They have launched the Marlands Summer of Shrek activities, working with the shopping centre to host a variety of activities for youngsters to enjoy in their Shrek Swamp.
Characters promoting the summer event included the Sugar Plum Fairy, Golden Goose, Mad Hatter, White Rabbit and Duloc Soldier who all took Shrek Selfies with passing customers in the shopping centre.
The Swamp will be hosting events every Saturday for children until the end of July.
Activities include making Shrek puppets and masks, learning how to swordfight like Puss-In-Boots, storytelling from the Gingerbread man, meeting a real donkey at the petting zoo, dance workshops to song 'I'm a Believer' and making their own Shrek ears.
