A HAMPSHIRE woman has died as a result of taking ecstasy tablets.
The 37-year-old from Bursledon died at Southampton General Hospital this morning.
She is believed to have taken the drug at about 11pm on Friday night.
She then felt ill by 1am and was vomiting. She went to bed and was found limp at 4am.
An ambulance took her to Southampton General Hospital where she died at about 6am.
Police have issued a warning to revellers over the batch of tablets the woman is believed to have taken. Officers say they are dangerous.
The tablets are described as round and white with an image of two cherries hanging from two leaves. The reverse side of the tablet is plain with a line through the centre.
Detective Inspector Linda Howard said: "These tablets should be treated with extreme caution.
"We are awaiting chemical analysis of the tablets, but people should exercise extreme care."
A 51-year-old Bursledon man was arrested Saturday morning on suspicion of supplying drugs is helping police with their inquiries.
