A HAMPSHIRE holiday firm worker has begun an appeal against her conviction over the death of an 11-year-old girl in Greece.
Laura Morgan of Woodborough, Nottinghamshire, died in 2003 in Paleros when the catamaran she was in capsized and trapped her.
Water sports manager Rebecca Jane Morgan, 31, of Portchester, near Fareham, was convicted of negligence and given an 18-month jail sentence suspended for three years.
She is appealing alongside assistant manager Kevin Michael Jones, 26, of Dorset, and hotel manager William James Hutton, 32, of the West Midlands, who were convicted of the same charge.
They were found guilty after a trial at the Court of Misdemeanours, at Lefkada, in March 2006.
Laura and two friends had been sailing a catamaran as part of the activities laid on for holidaymakers.
When it capsized safety guards could not free her trapeze harness that had trapped her underneath the boat.
