EASTLEIGH'S roads are to get a £2m overhaul in the coming year.
Half the money allocated by Hampshire County Council will be spent on new projects to improve traffic flows, while the other half will go on repairs and maintenance.
Among the endorsed schemes are plans for a new mini roundabout at the junction of Passfield Avenue and Derby Road - improving accessibility and bus punctuality - and traffic management in Kipling Road.
A cycleway in Chestnut Avenue will also be completed.
Other items discussed included installing a pedestrian and cycle bridge in Flexford Road, which would support a cycleway from Valley Park to Hiltingbury in Chandler's Ford.
Parking improvements at Hedge End railway station and the provision of an off-road cycle route between Southampton Airport Parkway Interchange and Wide Lane in Eastleigh are also in the pipeline.
Other priorities include street lighting, casualty reduction measures and footway improvements across the borough.
