WHITELEY-based accountancy firm MorleyandScott, have strengthened their professional team with the appointment of audit and accounts assistant Mike Thomas.
This appointment is something of a homecoming for Mike, who was born in Southampton but moved with his family to north Wales more than 30 years ago.
Since qualifying, he has spent around a decade in accounting practice plus a further eight years in industry appointments, so brings a wealth of experience to MorleyandScott.
This is just as well because his role at the firm is varied, encompassing the preparation of accounts, corporation tax returns and small company audits in a wide variety of sectors.
Mike's remit also includes the monthly management accounts preparation that delivers interim financial information for clients. In addition, he also provides clients with Sage accounting systems support.
Mike said: "The team here have built an enviable reputation for professionalism but have still managed to maintain a friendly and approachable attitude - just the ethos I was after. I was also seeking variety in the kind of work I was going to be able to do and for whom and working for MorleyandScott certainly provides that."
Though now resident in Southampton, his main interests are hill walking and mountain rescue, which frequently take him away from the city. However, Mike is also a keen model railway enthusiast.
