RESIDENTS and visitors to Romsey are being warned in advance of road closures and travel disruptions ahead of a royal visit this summer.
The Queen will visit the town on June 8 and Hampshire police and Romsey Town Council are appealing for the public's co-operation during the visit.
Road closures will be in place throughout the town centre and a number of car parks will also be closed for security reasons.
Between 8am and 1pm vehicles within the town and on routes in and out of Romsey will be strictly prohibited. Police will aim to ensure that this causes minimum disruption, but residents are asked to cooperate and leave their vehicle at home if possible.
Bus services will also be affected, and residents and businesses situated in the areas of the town most affected will be contacted by the town council and local police.
Hampshire police say that specific details of routes affected and further information will be issued nearer the event.
