SIXTY drivers and passengers were stopped for failing to wear a seatbelt during a special operation in the New Forest.
The offenders were told to attend a short education and advice session at Lyndhurst fire station or accept a £30 fixed penalty notice.
A total of 58 people opted to attend the talk, which was given by Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service.
Police Sergeant Alyson West, of the Totton Roads Policing Unit, said: "Seatbelts save lives.
"That's why we are committed to carrying out high visibility operations such as this to remind motorists of the importance of wearing one."
