SOUTHAMPTON'S two MPs have backed a potential takeover of Saints by a billionaire investor.
John Denham and Alan Whitehead believe a cash injection could be the ticket that puts the club back in the worldwide spotlight.
They say they would welcome the substantial investment as long as the football club stayed true to the fans.
As revealed in the Daily Echo, Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen is reportedly looking into buying a football club after showing an interest in the sport.
Sources close to the philanthropist say that Southampton FC would be an ideal investment because of its close ties to the community.
