UKBEG am, MAG pm - is the entry against Sunday April 22 in my diary. I hate to think what Chris Jessop of the United Kingdom Buell Enthusiasts Group (UKBEG) has in his diary for that day.
After setting up a massive group meeting at Sammy Miller's Museum that attracted riders from as far off as Bristol, he was too unwell to attend.
Not fair, but the 65 Buell riders (40 from Dockgate 20) made up for his incapacity by having a good ride in perfect weather and spending time looking and talking about their passion.
Many of the bikes in Sammy's car park displayed a lot of trick parts, proving that Buellatics like to individualise their bikes every bit as much as riding the tyres off them.
My afternoon was spent at the MAG (Motorcycle Action Group) Bike Show at the Cricketers in Eastleigh.
The show has become a regular event to see top quality, high input, bikes alongside spectacular home built specials.
The social side of any show is as important as the bikes and, as always, there was much chatting and catching up with old friends.
Big blockbuster shows may be best for looking at everything new and improved, but these grass roots events really are the perfect way to spend a day.
Thanks all for another enjoyable day.
