IT'S a scandal which is sweeping Hampshire's schools.
Tales of mouse droppings, slug trails, mould, out-of-date food and a dry food store with a significant mould droppings - all found by health inspectors in schools in the county.
Today the Daily Echo can reveal the full extent of what's lurking in your child's kitchen.
We've gained exclusive access through the Freedom of Information Act to environmental health reports when inspectors assessed the state of Hampshire's school kitchens.
The findings will shock you.
Today, the Daily Echo names and shames 43 Hampshire schools which were discovered to have a problem with their kitchens. Kitchens where food is prepared for tens of thousands of youngsters every day and 43 schools which have been reported for poor and unhygienic conditions.
In some cases, the inspectors threatened action if steps were ignored after previous warnings.
Margaret Morrissey from the national Parent Teachers' Association was shocked at the Daily Echo's findings. She said: "All of these findings are absolutely unacceptable and will cause great concern to parents."
