RESURFACING work is being carried out on an Eastleigh approach road.
Part of Leigh Road will be closed during half-term holiday while work goes on to improve the running surface and restore skid resistance to the carriageway.
The £75,000 scheme is scheduled to take place from 1am on Tuesday, May 29, to midnight on Sunday, June 3.
The road will be closed to through traffic from the Leigh Road junction with Passfield Avenue and Woodside Avenue, to Romsey Road near the police station during the works.
Access will be maintained to residential and business properties, which will be open as usual.
A signed traffic diversion taking traffic via Passfield Avenue, Chestnut Avenue and Southampton Road will be in place.
Hampshire County Council's executive member for environment Councillor Mel Kendal said: "The work has been programmed to take place over the half-term break to minimise disruption.
"These resurfacing works are essential to continue to ensure the safety of its road users.
"Please allow extra time for your journey through the town or choose an alternative route, as short delays are expected."
