MOTORISTS travelling westbound on the M271 near to junction one at Cadnam suffered lengthy tailbacks during this afternoon's rush hour.
The inside lane had to be closed after a motorcyclist was in collision with a vehicle just before 5pm, police said.
Police and paramedics were called to the scene.
An ambulance spokesman said crews were called at 4.54pm to reports a male motorcyclist had been knocked off his bike.
He was taken by ambulance to Southampton General Hospital with leg injuries, but was fully conscious and breathing.
The spokesman added that fuel had spilled on to the road.
