ABOUT 600 homes in a Hampshire town were today without water after a water main burst during the early hours of this morning.
A Southern Water spokesman said that work was being carried out to isolate the main in the High Street, Stockbridge, and restore the water supply to properties in the area by this afternoon.
In the meantime Southern Water was distributing bottles of water to householders with medical and other special needs.
