A TEMPORARY speed limit has been imposed on the A35 between Lyndhurst and Ashurst. The normal 60mph restriction has been reduced to 40mph to protect engineers building a long-awaited new cycleway between the two villages.
Work began last month and is due to continue until August.
However, a county council spokesman said the 40mph limit would only be in force between 9.30am and 4.30pm, Monday to Friday. She said drivers using the road at all other times would still be able to travel at 60mph.
