Two young Hampshire men are today fighting for their lives following a horror road crash.
The men, both aged 20, were back seat passengers in a black Peugeot 306 which collided with a Transit van.
Both men, one from Chandler's Ford the other from Eastleigh, worked for Vosper Thornycroft.
They are currently in the intensive care unit at Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham with head and internal injuries.
They were taken there by ambulance under a high speed police escort and their condition has been described as "critical".
The accident happened in Lee-on-the-Solent at about 12.55pm yesterday.
The Peugeot was travelling east on Marine Parade East near Elmore Angling Club when police say it went out of control and collided with the Transit coming in the opposite direction.
Police closed the road for more than three hours while they investigated the accident.
The 20-year-old driver of the Peugeot was arrested and question by police but released on bail without charge.
Two other male passengers in the car aged 18 and 19 and both from Southampton were also treated at QA hospital with minor injuries.
Also treated there for minor injuries and shock were the transit driver, 58, from Fareham, and his passenger, a 47-year-old from Stubbington.
Police have launched an investigation into the crash, code named Operation Selbourne.
Anyone with information is asked to contract them on 0845 045 4545.
