IT promises to be one of the biggest footballing weekends Hampshire has ever seen.

Saints lost 2-1 to Derby County in the home leg of their crucial play-off semi-final as they battle to win promotion back to the Premiership (see full details in sport section).

Meanwhile, just a few miles down the road, AFC Totton are gearing up for the most important game in the club's history.

The players, along with up to 15,000 supporters, will be heading up the M3 tomorrow to the new Wembley Stadium to take on Truro City in the final of the FA Vase.

To ensure that both teams feel the full weight of support behind them, youngsters from two schools swapped uniforms for club colours yesterday.

In Southampton, pupils at Ludlow Infant School in Sholing came dressed in red and white to show their support for Saints.

Bosses at the school said that it was their way of cheering on the team, and that it was also a fun thing for the youngsters to do that helped to boost their interest in the game.

In Totton, youngsters at Lydlynch Infant School also ditched their uniforms for the day, and instead came dressed in the blue and pink colours of AFC Totton.

Head teacher Karen Atkinson said: "As Totton are going up to Wembley, we wanted to do something fun in school.

"Quite a few of our children are going up to watch the match.

"We wanted to wish the team the best of luck and show they have a lot of support."
