NOT everyone at Ludlow Infant Schools was supporting Saints at St Mary's yesterday.
Six-year-old Derby County fan Gwen Ryan had wanted to go dressed in the Rams' black and white colours, but school bosses vetoed the idea.
Gwen's mum Christine Ryan, who comes from Derby and moved to Sholing in Southampton with her daughter eight years ago, said: "I was a bit disappointed by the school's reaction.
"I would have thought they would be encouraging children to show their individuality but it's a bit silly that she can't wear the kit of her favourite team just because it isn't the colours of Southampton."
A spokesman for the school said: "It is important to remember this day was about getting behind Southampton Football Club as they prepare for the Championship play-offs.
"We know that our pupils support teams from across the country, but we wanted to show our support for this city's team at an important time in the footballing season."
