ACHING muscles, broken fingers, torrential downpours and lightning strikes.
What was supposed to be a fun and friendly sporting event turned into the ultimate challenge for the University of Southampton's ladies lacrosse team.
Playing non-stop for more than nine hours, some 30 athletic ladies took to the sports ground at Wide Lane in Eastleigh to raise cash for Wessex Cancer Trust.
"It has been pretty tough," said team captain Tamsin Drake.
The team were looking to raise more than £1,000 for Wessex Cancer Trust, to help support cancer patients in Hampshire.
