TV Star Davina McCall brought the glamour and glitz of showbiz to a fundraising event in Southampton.

The 48-year-old celebrity appeared at the Ageas Bowl for an event in aid of Action Medical Research, which helps children with disabilities and those suffering from rare diseases.

McCall, a former Big Brother host, was greeted like an old friend as she took time to take photos with each and every guest and organisers were confident the day would break the previous fundraising record of £33,000.

Mum-of-three Davina, the face of ITV's Long Lost Family, said: "I've been supporting this charity for as long as I can remember - since I was a child.

"My gran was actively involved when I was living with her so it was our family charity. Helping children is a no brainer and it also funds research into illnesses no one else looks at.

"This is my absolute favourite event of the year- 472 ladies this year. I will say loud and proud I love it!

This is one place where even though it might be a room full of strangers I feel so at home . It's always so much fun.

“Just going to the loo can take half an hour because we are like a gang, talking about everything from our husbands to our underwear!"
