A DRINK driver was three and a half times the alcohol limit when he was stopped by police.
Michal Sidorowicz, 29, of Shirley Road, Southampton, was stopped in Stafford Road on July 27, a court heard.
His alcohol reading was 123 per 100 millilitres of breath, when the legal limit is 35.
He denied the charge but was convicted after a trial at the city magistrates court.
Magistrates said the case was so serious they jailed him for four months but suspended it for a year after hearing his driving had put other road users at risk.
Sidorowicz was ordered to do 180 hours unpaid work, pay an £80 victim surcharge, £500 costs and a £520 criminal courts charge. He was also banned from driving for 30 months.
