FIREFIGHTERS cut a woman from her car after a crash on a Hampshire road.

Emergency services were called to the incident near Burseldon Road, Southampton after a van collided with a small hatchback.

Police, fire and ambulance services attended the scene at 8.10pm on Saturday, with the van driver stepping away from his vehicle without any injuries.

In total 10 firefighters from Hightown fire station had to cut the female, believed to be in her 40’s, out of her small hatchback, before she was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

A police spokesperson said: “The fire service took care to ensure the female was removed from the vehicle safely.

“The clear up was dealt with quickly with the woman being taken to hospital saying she had neck pains from the impact.”

The road was cleared within 30 minutes and the flow of traffic resumed.
