AN elderly woman and her pet dog and budgerigar were rescued by firefighters from their burning Hampshire home tonight.
The blaze broke out at property in Oakwood Avenue in New Milton at 5.34pm.
The woman was taken the Royal Bournemouth Hospital suffering with smoke inhilation.
A spokeswoman for Hampshire Fire and Rescue says her injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
It is unknown whether the animals were hurt.
Crews from New Milton and Brockenhurst fire stations used two breathing apparatus, a hose reel and a jet to put out the flames.
