One of two brothers accused of allegedly attacking a Southampton mum has admitted a charge of causing grievous bodily harm.

But his younger brother has denied the charges.

Geoffrey Midmore, 26, and Billy Midmore, 22, both of no fixed address, today appeared by video link at Southampton Crown Court, for allegedly attacking Carla Whitlock on the night of September 18.

The pair both appeared on the screen stroking their beards.

Geoffrey Midmore pleaded guilty to a charge of greivous bodily harm.

Billy Midmore pleaded not guilty to the same charge.

Both were remanded in custody for Billy Midmore to appear at the same court on January 15 for a plea and case management hearing ahead of a trial scheduled for March 29 planned to last ten days.

Geoffrey was told he will be sentenced after the trial.

Mum-of-six Carla Whitlock was allegedly involved in a targeted attack outside of Turtle Bay restaurant in Guildhall Square when acid was thrown in her face.

As previously reported by the Daily Echo, staff from Turtle Bay came to help Miss Whitlock and the acid caused her to lose her sight in one eye and suffer severe burns to her face, neck and arms.

Billy also faces a charge of possessing a bladed article for a separate incident on August 6, which will be dealt with at the same court at a later date.
