SOUTHAMPTON’S most wanted man has been arrested after a Crimestoppers appeal.

Craig Ham, 22, was wanted by Hampshire Police on warrant in relation to an alleged attempted burglary, theft of a motor vehicle and handling stolen goods.

Now Liam Byres, 21, who police believe was involved in a burglary, has been announced as the city's most wanted man.

In June police announced that Ham, of Culver Close, Southampton, had been charged in relation to the these alleged offences and he was due to be the face of a Crimestoppers campaign.

The charity is marking the 10th anniversary of its Most Wanted online initiative and is putting photographs of wanted people on a digital screen, which will travel throughout the country.

It will appear in Southampton at 1.30pm today but Ham’s picture will be replaced by Liam Byres, which is wanted in relation to an alleged burglary.

He is described as being white, six feet tall, and has brown hair.

Anyone who has seen Byres is asked to contact Hampshire Police on 101.
