THE international rock band whose concert was stormed by terrorists during the Paris attacks have paid tribute to the scores of fans slaughtered in the bloodbath.

Eagles of Death Metal were on stage at the Bataclan concert hall when gunmen burst into the venue and mercilessly slayed at least 89 people.

Briton Nick Alexander was killed there – just 10 days after the merchandise seller from London was working at their concert in Engine Rooms, Southampton.

The assault was the bloodiest of attacks led by three groups of terrorists which also hit a major football stadium, and a series of bars in the capital – killing 129 and injuring 352.

Southampton couple Maria and Patrick Moore narrowly escaped the gig –forcing their way through a fire exit – before returning to the hall to rescue injured friend Brian Sanders who broke his collarbone while being trampled in the crush.

In a statement released on social media last night the Californian band wrote: “While the band is now home safe, we are horrified and still trying to come to terms with what happened in France.”

Remembering Mr Alexander and other victims they added: “Our thoughts and hearts are first and foremost with our brother Nick Alexander, our record company comrades Thomas Ayad, Marie Mosser, and Manu Perez, and all the friends and fans whose lives were taken in Paris, as well as their friends, families, and loved ones.”

Although bonded in grief with the victims, the fans, the families, the citizens of Paris, and all those affected by terrorism, we are proud to stand together, with our new family, now united by a common goal of love and compassion.”

They said all their shows are “on hold” until further notice before writing: “Vive la musique, vive la liberté, vive la France, and vive EODM.”
