IT was five times lucky for Diane Forder, who scooped another runner-up prize in this week's Find the Ball competition.

Diane, 44, who lives in Little Holbury, on the Waterside, has been playing the Daily Echo's Find The Ball competition for 25 years. She first won a runner-up prize for coming closest to marking the correct position of the ball in 2004.

Since then she has chalked up five near misses, winning about £10,000 in prize money.

Her latest win was £2,300.

"I'm still determined to win the jackpot," said Diane.

"The last time I won was about five weeks ago. I treated myself to a holiday in Jersey.

"I have also managed to buy a little car with some of my winnings.

"I don't know what I will spend this on, but I will probably treat my family."

Miss Forder said she had a trick to ball-spotting that seemed to be working, and hoped that she could net the £38,000 jackpot in the competition in tomorrow's Daily Echo.

The runner-up prize stands at £2,400.
