A COUPLE were left shaken after an alleged aggressive road rage incident involving a Southampton company.

Amy Donovan and Jamie Vincent said they were “genuinely scared” after a white van driver appeared to cut them up several times before getting out and attacking their passenger-side window.

They were driving at 8.45am in the morning when the angry van driver started beeping aggressively, driving to cut in, and then got out of the van and banged on their window.

Please note this video does contain some swearing And because they had their GoPro camera on them they were able to record the whole thing.

They carry it with them whenever they are out cycling or driving for their own security after an insurance dispute 18 months ago.

Amy, 23, who was driving her Peugeot 208, said: "I was literally having a panic attack.

"I was in front of him and the left lane was blocked because of a van. He beeps me and as I got past the [parked van] he starts driving closer and closer, trying to push me off the road.

"He's literally level-pegging me, he wasn't even trying to get past me.

"Because we were coming up to the roundabout we slowed down and then someone starts shouting and appears at the passenger window and he hit it. He nearly broke it, it felt like it was going to smash.

"He was pulling the door. It made the car shake. Then we saw him drive down Dean Park Road."

In the three-minute video, which has been widely shared on social media, 28-year-old Jamie is heard shouting: "Just keep going, ignore him. You're not doing anything wrong. Just keep driving. I'm sending that to the police."

The van driver is heard shouting: "Want to play games?!" before he hits the passenger window.

It's at that moment Jamie shouts "phone 999. Phone the police now".

The van man then shouts "oi" as he covers his face with his arms.

Jamie, who lives near Castlepoint in Bournemouth, said: "You get drivers like it all the time. People get funny on the roads so we just ignore it but we were genuinely scared. Anything can happen these days. I didn't want to rise to it. He probably would have pulled me out. He'd had a bad day.

"I've spoken to the police and explained the situation and they said if there's any more information they will come back to us."

The incident happened when the couple were driving from Cemetery Junction towards Richmond Hill along Wimborne Road in Bournemouth on November 10.

Plumbers 24x7, based in Southampton, have said they don't believe the video shows the full extent of the incident and said they have since spoken with the engineer in question.

A representative said: "We don't condone violence in any way, shape or form. However we do feel the video only shows one side of the story."
