An elderly couple forced a masked burglar to flee empty handed after being attacked in their own home.
The 82-year-old man and his 78-year-old wife were pushed and punched when they confronted the thief in their Wickham home.
The frail pensioners were in their home when they saw a man in their conservatory who had entered the house via an unlocked rear door.
The couple confronted the burglar, who pushed the woman into a chair and punched the man in the chest, before fleeing the house on Southwick Road, empty handed.
Luckily the couple did not suffered any injuries.
