A new era was ushered in as Marwell Zoo celebrated the opening of two new attractions.
Encounter Village and the Australian Bush Walk form the park's first biome - an area of distinct biological communities.
Encounter Village includes a walk through Golden Lion Tamarins.
The Australian bush is brought to life with a barrier-free wallaby walk and sounds of the didgeridoo, right, provided by Gary Rowe, Greg Thorn and John Brice of Bishop's Waltham didgeridoo club.
The Winchester zoo hopes the new attractions will allow visitors to get even closer to the animals, as the park takes it first step towards creating a zoo that reflects the world's natural resources.
