GRAB your magic lamp and jump aboard your flying carpet as the 3D pantomime adventure Aladdin lands in Southampton this weekend.

Starring comic Joe Pasquale as Wishee Washee and Blue star Duncan James as Aladdin, the panto opens at Mayflower Theatre tomorrow.

Audiences are set to enjoy the exploits of a wish-granting genie, an evil sorcerer and a fabulous dame in the shape of celebrated female impersonator Ceri Dupree as Widow Twankey.

This year's production will also include magical 3D projection, which will provide an up close and personal meeting with the Genie.

Expect a show full of comedy, song and dance and audience participation in the South's biggest family pantomime, produced once again by Qdos Entertainment, who were behind last year's production of Cinderella, starring Brian Conley and Gok Wan.

The world's biggest pantomime producer, the company pride themselves on staging productions of West End scale and quality, featuring spectacular effects, stunning costumes and lots of laugh out loud humour.

Comedian, national treasure and star of TV's Dancing on Ice, Joe Pasquale has been delighting audiences for more than 20 years. He's voiced characters for Hollywood movies Garfield: A Tale of Two Kitties and Horton Hears a Who, has toured in major theatrical productions including The Producers and was crowned King of the Jungle in I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here.

Best known as a member of the band Blue, Duncan James now has an impressive list of theatre credits including Chicago, Legally Blonde and Priscilla Queen of the Desert. On TV, he has appeared in Soapstar Superstar, Dancing on Ice and Blue Go Mad in Ibiza.

Turn to page XX for a chat with Joe Pasquale. Duncan James talks to Lorelei Reddin in tomorrow's Seven Days magazine, free with the Daily Echo.

Tickets for the show, which runs until Sunday January 3, are available from 023 8071 1811 or mayflower.org.uk
