A MAN has appeared in court charged with five offences following his arrest by armed police.
John Patrick Flyn, 47, is charged with wounding with intent, possession of a firearm, possession of prohibited ammunition - said to be a bullet that explodes on contact - possession of a knife and possession of an offensive weapon.
Flyn, of Cromwell Road, Gosport, was also said to have a quantity of amphetamines on him when police arrested him in Titchfield on Friday evening.
Yesterday Flyn made his first appearance before Fareham Magistrates' Court.
No plea was entered during the ten-minute hearing.
Flyn was remanded into custody and is now expected back in the court later this week for formal committal proceedings to send the case to crown court.
