FIRE crews from Southampton have been battling a blaze for almost 11 hours.
The fire at a barn on Manor Farm Road in Michelmersh has been burning since 2am, due to the wood-clippings that are fuelling the flames.
Hampshire fire confirmed crews from Romsey, Redbridge, Stockbridge, Eastleigh and Hightown had been fighting the fire since 2.30am, with four fire engines and two specialist water carriers needed to tackle it.
The neighbouring barn, which contained scores of cattle, had to be evacuated in case the fire spread.
The spokesman added the fire is expected to continue for most of the day, but stressed that the situation was under control and they have since scaled down their presence at the barn.
A cause for the fire has yet to be established and no-one has been injured.
