TIME is running out to join the stampede and be a part of the art extravaganza of the year.
Businesses, organisations and charities have until the end of the month to sign up to support Marwell’s Zany Zebras.
This summer, a zeal of Marwell's Zany Zebras, will gallop through the streets of Southampton and Marwell Zoo creating a family friendly trail that will last ten weeks.
Already dozens of sculptures are set to go on display as firms have flocked to sponsor a life-sized zebra that will be dotted around the city centre.
Brought to you by the same team at Marwell behind the hugely successful Go! Rhinos of 2013, Marwell's Zany Zebras promises to be bigger and better.
Marwell’s Zany Zebras Project Manager, Kirstie Mathieson said: "The reaction to Marwell's Zany Zebras has been overwhelming and the event is already significantly larger than Go! Rhinos. Companies of all shapes and sizes have joined the stampede - from family run businesses like Pickwell Farm to national brands including Hobbycraft and NatWest; and even international super-brands like Southampton Football Club, Cunard and P&O Cruises.
"We know that events of this type present the perfect vehicle for businesses to raise their profile; boost footfall and generate additional income, all whilst supporting a project which reaches across communities, wildlife, arts and the environment.”
Councillor Simon Letts, Leader of Southampton City Council said he was looking forward to the trail being a big hit with the public. “Following on from the phenomenal success of Marwell’s Go! Rhinos, Southampton is looking forward to welcoming Marwell’s Zany Zebras this summer.
“Events like this bring additional visitors to the city, give a much needed boost to the local economy and show what we can do as a city when we work in partnership with local businesses.”
So far, a fantastic 45 business have joined Marwell's Zany Zebras in sponsoring a large sculpture, which will include a smaller replica at Marwell Zoo itself. In addition, 100 schools and education groups will be decorating their very own sculptures too.
The project offers sponsors some great marketing benefits, a unique way of engaging with the community as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility Programme, fantastic content for social media to increase reach and engagement as well as staff and client engagement opportunities. The deadline for entry submission is 31 January.
